Stripes

Here is my stripes for this week's challenge. Inspiration took it's time to come, and I had many ideas and possible directions. The nice thing is that in the end, I simply started drawing a ribbon (which is like a stripe I believe), and then another and another and the drawing emerged by itself.
I love it when it happens this way.

And another drawing, with a short background: my daughter got a gift. A new drawing booklet with recycled paper for its pages. It feels great and looks great. So she comes to me and say "dadi, can you please draw something in the front page?". It was amazing to see the amount of hesitation (fear?) I experienced, but at the end I did it. So here is the flower I drew for my daughter :)

  1. Love your Challenge Tile, Omer. Beautiful design. It is a wonderful experience to have a Tile emerge on its own. Love your shading. The piece for your daughter's art book is beautiful also. A terrifying commission for sure. Well done.

  5. Omer, your stripes tile is beautiful!! I especially love how the light is shining in on the bottom right! Your string looks like a symbol of some sort!! Just beautiful and the shading as well!! I know the feeling about breaking in a new book, especially when it is not your own. My girlfriend gave me one and it is so pretty all by itself. But about two weeks ago, I was inspired to use it. It's going to be my special book for all tangles from A-Z. I'm kinda excited, and want to do it only when I feel moved to do so. Otherwise it might become a "have to" instead of a "want to"!Anyways, lovely work as always!! :0) Have a wonderful weekend! :0) Share Humanity

    1. I didn't know there is a term for it "breaking in a new book" - spot on. The "breaking" is like breaking a "lock" that covers the new book... And the "have to VS. want to" - again spot on :)

  10. I like how you did the stripe tile and the tangles you used. To start a new tile it takes me a while to get started but then ideas are popping up. The flower for your daughter is wonderful, something she can treasure forever.

  11. I, too, love the swath of light coming from under your tangles. And, I love that you drew that flower just for your daughter. How special that is.
